Warning: CSI Spoilers, if you care
I had to swap out my DVR right after the holidays because the hard drive was dieing, then screwed up several of the series recording settings and missed Grissem’s final episode on CSI. After realizing my mistake I quickly downloaded the episode using bittorrent (yay!), but didn’t get around to watching it until today over lunch. I’ve got the rest of the new episodes waiting for me on the DVR and have been carefully avoiding them and any hints of what happens until I can watch them all in order.
I’ll admit it. I get attached to the characters in my favorite shows. I was royally pissed off when they killed off Warrick. It was a real surprise to me because I don’t read the entertainment press and so had no idea Gary Dourdan was leaving the show. Grissim was different. I knew the end was coming and it still got to me. Choking up over a TV character feels supremely silly, but that’s where I’m at, you know. It’s funny, I can type this out, but couldn’t talk about it if I wanted to at the moment.
He went out on a monstrous case and I’m very glad he got back together with Sarah. Everyone deserves to get what they love. I thought they handled the introduction of Lawrence Fishburn’s character well also and am excited to see where the show goes now
I gotta say, Hodges’ parting with Grissem was a hoot and made me laugh, but on the other hand I understand completely where he’s coming from. Been there, done that, not quite as bad as Hodges, but close.
