Stunned Speechless

Every time I see one of these videos I end up staring slackjawed at the screen. I can’t imagine myself ever holding an equivalently outrageous sign up in protest to a Republican president. These images stun me every time I see them.
Even worse, I’m becoming cynical about whether any kind of real conversation can happen between people like me and people like the folks in this video. The conversations I’ve had with folks like this I know personally have not gone well. I think I need to spend more time studying Sen. Al Franken’s techniques for communicating.

Tribute To Teabagger Hate Signs
I can’t view the video either, but Teabagging is a reference to a sex act. It’s how the left has been ridiculing the Tea Parties.
Starting out a discussion by labeling someone as a person who performs a variation on oral sex sort of shuts things down before they even get started.
Does that help? Again, I didn’t title the video. I just watched it.
I have not, nor would I, use the term ‘teabaggers’ personally when I was talking to someone of a right-leaning pursuasion. It’s not how I roll.

Well, the Acorn tapes on setting up brothels for Salvadorean teens gives new meaing to the white slavery sign for sure.
A big demonstration attracts lots of people and some on the fringe. As demos go, this one pretty tame to me.

Hi Bill,
I won’t even try to defend the actions of the ACORN workers in Baltimore. Thos workers were wrong and I haven’t the faintest clue what the hell they thought they were doing. They, their supervisors, and trainers all probably need to be fired.
I do think the hysteria over ACORN is overblown. ACORN has received a grand total of $53 billion dollars since 1994 with $8 billion more in formerly upcoming funding, which is being canceled. We (our government) is burning through far more than that every year in no-bid “emergency” contracts in Iraq and Afghanistan, bailing out bloated financial companies, the failed “War on Drugs” and on the prison-industrial complex that goes with it, militarizing the tactics of our police departments, etc.
If you consider the claims in the video ‘mild’, am I to presume that you find them within the scope of your own beliefs, and can speak to specific claims?
